To make things even easier it is now possible to get gas credit cards that will allow you buy your gas at any station no matter what the brand name on the pump is. Often you can find programs like Shell gas credit cards that offer you a cash back bonus for every gallon of gas that you buy as an incentive to not only get their credit card but to switch to using their brand of gasoline exclusively. In most cases these cards can also be used to purchase anything in the convenience store that is part of the gas station.

While there are many cost saving gas credit cards that offer rebates and incentive programs to get you to use their credit cards, you needs to make sure that what they offer is a better deal than using your regular credit card or in fact paying in cash. Just because you are being offered cash back or a reward does not mean that you are getting a good deal, many of these credit cards have fairly high interest rates that more than offset the cash back you will see.

For many companies, gas expenses are a normal cost of doing business and using business gas credit cards offer them a good way to track the amount of money being spent on a monthly basis. With the high cost of fuel these days it has become very important for truckers and other businesses to know exactly how much they are spending on fuel. This way they can adjust their shipping cost to cover how much is actually being spent.

To make sure that their drivers are actually using the gas stations that have the best prices, companies can use dedicated gas credit cards that make sure their drivers have to stick to one brand of gas. This way allows the company to budget in the cost of fuel and in some cases even receive a discount for using one brand of fuel for their fleet.

If your are the parent of a college student, you know what it is like to be constantly worried about how they are spending their money and will they have enough gas to get to and from work or home over the holidays. Many parents are now giving their college student credit cards for gas stations in an effort to make sure that no matter what they will always be able to keep their car on the road for work or those all important visits home.

No matter what your reason for using gas credit cards is always remember to make sure that you only use the ones that make it worth your while. Look at the interest rates as well as the rewards programs and make sure that you are getting the best deal.
